چکیده
This study presents an experimental investigation of the rate-dependent mechanical properties cement paste at microscale. With use a nanoindenter, micro-cantilever beams with size 300 μm × 1650 were loaded five different strain rates from around 10−6/s to 10−2/s until failure. It is found that increasing rate, stress-strain curves show less and delayed pre-peak nonlinearity. Both flexural strength elastic modulus increase while peak stress exhibits opposite trend. Examination fracture surface indicates rate possibility crack pass through stronger components hydration products increased. The observations possible mechanisms leading changes in responses are discussed. suggested least two micromechanical processes, namely creep Stéfan effect, mainly responsible for behaviour within investigated range their dominances seem vary rate. At lower sensitivity thought be dominated by higher effect appears governing factor.

Developing rating scales for assessing interactional performance is demanding since it is a relatively complicated procedure. The present study investigated the psychometric characteristics of the CAP rating scale (Wang, 2015) for assessing interactional competence at micro-level. To this end, 160 Iranian intermediate EFL learners were selected based on their performance on TOEFL iBT test from ...

متن کاملInfluence of Microencapsulated Phase Change Material (PCM) Addition on (Micro) Mechanical Properties of Cement Paste
Excessive cracking can be a serious durability problem for reinforced concrete structures. In recent years, addition of microencapsulated phase change materials (PCMs) to concrete has been proposed as a possible solution to crack formation related to temperature gradients. However, the addition of PCM microcapsules to cementitious materials can have some drawbacks, mainly related to strength re...
متن کاملUnderstanding interferometry for micro-cantilever displacement detection
Interferometric displacement detection in a cantilever-based non-contact atomic force microscope (NC-AFM) operated in ultra-high vacuum is demonstrated for the Michelson and Fabry-Pérot modes of operation. Each mode is addressed by appropriately adjusting the distance between the fiber end delivering and collecting light and a highly reflective micro-cantilever, both together forming the interf...
